IT’S OFFICIAL: MAGAR IS TEA PARTY’S MAN

NEWS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW IBERIA, LA— With just under 3 weeks until the Republican primary election, Kristian Magar, Ph.D., Constitutional Conservative candidate for Louisiana’s 3rd Congressional District, has received the endorsement many have been expecting: the TEA party.

Magar, who has made his grassroots campaign about the People, received an endorsement today from the TEA Party of South Louisiana. The group’s members voted unanimously to confer upon Magar its public endorsement at their regular business meeting tonight in New Iberia.

“Kristian embraces and exhibits the ideals that we stand on,” said Ruben LeBlanc, the group’s co-founder and president, “adherence to the Constitution and fiscal conservatism.”

Fiscal conservatism is right. Magar has spent less than $20,000 on his campaign, which launched last October, and has refused to accept any cash donations exceeding $1,000. “You have to be wise with what the people give,” Magar said. “If you run a campaign that keeps asking for more and more money, then how can the people trust you to not raise taxes over and over again because you have already spent what they have already given you?” Magar continued.

The endorsement of Magar comes on the heels of yet another establishment endorsement of New Iberia attorney and Republican-establishment candidate, Jeff Landry. “He can have all the establishment support and all the big money donors he wants,” Magar said of Landry, “I have the support of the People, and that’s what matters.”
LeBlanc said in the group’s endorsement statement that the membership voted unanimously to “encourage all voters in the Third District to lend their support to Kristian Magar and cast their votes for him in the Republican primary on August 28, 2010, to ‘fundamentally restore our nation’ to its Constitutional principles and values.”
