POLL SHOWS MAGAR SURGING

NEW IBERIA, LA With a little more than two months to go before the primaries, a recent poll conducted by the Louisiana Grassroots Network website, a not-for-profit Conservative organization that is not affiliated with any campaign or candidate, showed that Kristian Magar, Ph.D., Conservative candidate for Louisiana’s 3rd Congressional District, has been surging.

Magar, who prides himself on not being a career politician, took 18.1% of the vote in the poll, conducted June 2-4, finishing third in the poll. “This poll shows how effective a grassroots campaign can be when it is conducted honorably and with fiscal responsibility,” Magar said of the results.

Following with Magar’s mantra, “We don’t need big money. We need big mouths!” the campaign has raised considerably less money than the leading Republican candidate, Jeff Landry, but has seen results not experienced by the Landry camp. “Our support has been tremendous and I thank the people who have helped get the message out there,” said Magar.

Magar finished third in the poll behind the Republican-establishment candidate and attorney Jeff Landry and former speaker of the Louisiana House of Representatives Hunt Downer. Having never sought political office before, Magar has seen overwhelming support from the TEA Parties and from Conservative groups around the district. Ruben LeBlanc of MoveOnMary.org, a Conservative organization dedicated to recalling Senator Mary Landrieu said, “Magar has been the only one of the potential Congressmen to sign the recall petition. This shows that Magar is the only candidate willing to support the people’s right to recall elected officials, making him the only true Conservative in the group.”
